UDHAMPUR, Dec 15: A function was organized in GCW Udhampur in which maiden issue of the college magazine ‘Himtal’, alongwith annual edition of newsletter ‘Campus News’ was released.
Director Colleges, Higher Education Department J&K State, Prof (Dr) T A Kawoos was the chief guest and Prof (Dr) Ajeet Angral, Principal GGM Science College Jammu was the guest of honour. The function was presided over the Principal of the College, Prof K S Koushal. The programme was attended by Dr N K Resutra, Principal GDC Jindrah; Prof S S Bhalwal, Principal GDC Udhampur; Prof Tara Nath, Principal GDC Ramnagar; Dr S K Magotra; Principal and presently on deputation to RUSA, Dr Arun K Sharma, HoD Chemistry; Dr Ashok Kumar, HoD Mathematics; Dr Mool Raj, HoD Urdu; Prof Ravinder Kour, Dr Shalini Sharma, staff members and students.
Earlier the function started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest alongwith dignitaries followed by welcome address by Principal Prof K S Koushal. On this occasion students of the Music Deptt presented colorful programme and enthralled the audience.
The speakers, who spoke on the occasion, included Director Colleges, Prof (Dr) T A Kawoos and Principal Prof (Dr) Ajeet Angral. The speakers said that, the maiden issue of College Magazine ‘Himtal’ serves as a platform for enhancing the creative abilities and writing skills of the students while the annual issue of College Newsletter ‘Campus News’ reflects the activities of entire College and such type of publications are worth full for the progress of the educational institution.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Dr Bhavnaish Chand.
