GDC Billawar organizes symposium

JAMMU, Oct 19: Govt Degree College, Billawar organized a symposium on the topic “Gandhi and Secularism”, here today.
A large number of College students participated and spoke on the subject which is also the need of the hour in the present scenario.
The performances of the participants was adjudged by the jury including Prof Satishwer Singh, Prof Sanjeev Gupta and Prof Joginder Kumar on the basis of Content, Diction and Pronunciation.
Jasmine Ali of B.A Part-III stood first, while Manvi Gupta and Paru Pariya secured second and third positions respectively.
The students passionately threw light on the Gandhian philosophy of secularism that envisages pluralism, tolerance and coexistence as far as religious diversity of India is concerned.
Dr. Nater Singh, Principal of the College presented vote of thanks.
Earlier, in his address, Dr Singh expressed that Gandhi Ji symbolized the ethos of Indian secularism.
The event was compeered and organized by Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma.
