GDC Ganderbal organises entrepreneurship acumen programme

SRINAGAR, July 7: The Institute’s Innovation Cell (IIC) at Government Degree College Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, AICTE, and the IIC-Ministry of HRD, organized an impactful lecture today to ignite entrepreneurial spirit among graduating students.
The spokesperson said that the event was attended by heads of departments, faculty members from various departments, and enthusiastic students who engaged deeply with the distinguished speakers during interactive sessions.
According to the spokesperson, Prof. Fouzia Fatima, Principal of the college, addressed the gathering, praising the Institute’s Innovation Cell for organizing such significant events. “Innovation is the need of the hour and the future’s reality,” she emphasized to the students.
The spokesperson added that Dr. Sameera Siraj, HoD Zoology and Convener of IIC, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the program’s goal of fostering innovative thinking and promoting entrepreneurship on campus. The first expert speaker, Dr. Farzana Gulzar, Associate Professor at the School of Business Studies, University of Kashmir, delivered an engaging talk, involving the audience in activities that encouraged out-of-the-box thinking.
He further mentioned that the second expert, Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Ganaie, a renowned entrepreneur, shared his inspiring journey from job seeker to owner of a company with a $20 million turnover. His story motivated students to transform ideas into reality. “Dr. Tahira Naqvi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, conducted the program proceedings, while Dr. Mansha Nisar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, presented a formal vote of thanks.
