GDC Hiranagar launches intensified IEC campaign for AIDS awareness

JAMMU, Aug 24: Govt Degree College, Hiranagar today launched the intensified IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign for HIV/AIDS awareness under the auspices of J&K AIDS Control Society.
The Red Ribbon Club of the college has planned different events during the three-day program that includes sports competition, walkathon, poster design competition and folk dance.
To celebrate the theme “Observation of International Youth Day-2024”, the events started with a walkathon flagged off by the Principal of college, Dr Pragya Khanna along with other faculty members of the college. The walkathon was conducted within and outside the college premises in which students volunteers of RRC of the college participated.
Sports competition was conducted in the multipurpose hall of the college which includes Badminton and Carrom. Deepika Sharma got first position and Reetika Devi bagged second position in Carrom competition whereas Aman Khajuria got first position and Chetan Sharma second position in Badminton.The events were coordinated by Prof Bhavana Jamwal, Dr Ganga Sharma and Dr Bharat Bhushan under the convenorship of Prof Roopali Jamwal.
