KARGIL, Mar 29: Traffic in Kargil town remained suspended for the whole day as the students of Degree College Kargil took  to streets in support of their demands and protesting against Kashmir University.
The protesting students also staged a sit-in  at Kalon Rahim Khan Chowk (erstwhile Lal Chowk) and didn’t allow the traffic  to move. These students were demanding on time examination and   reduction in syllabus.
Talking to media on the occasion, one of the student leaders said  that those who have taken  admission in the same course in Kashmir have  almost completed graduation but students of Degree College Kargil were waiting  for more than one year to complete even one semester,   which is a big question mark on the sanity of Kashmir University.
The students alleged that despite normalcy of situation,  there is no improvement in the functioning of GDC Kargil due to late conduct of exam,  starting of late classes and many more which has forced them to take to streets.
They appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Minister for Education Altaf Bukhari and other concerned authorities and representatives of Kargil to solve this issue to save  future of the students.
