JAMMU, Dec 9: Literary Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura in collaboration with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) organized an awareness program against corruption under the patronage of Principal Prof (Dr) Preetpal Kour and supervision of Dr Neena Gupta Rohmetra (convener, Literary Committee).
The theme of the event was “Uniting with youth against corruption shaping tomorrow’s integrity”. In the presidential address, Prof (Dr) Preetpal Kour assured that the Institution will work towards a corruption free India. She said the College will also collaborate with law enforcement agencies like ACB towards achieving a common goal that is a progressive and corruption free India. The programme started with screening of a video on the working of Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The program witnessed detailed presentations by Bandeshwar Singh (Inspector ACB) and Mohd Araf (Inspector ACB) relating to functioning of ACB, process of lodging complaints against corrupt public servants and the practices to curb menace of corruption. The presentation was followed by interactive session in which Inspector Bandeshwar Singh and Inspector Araf answered the queries of students and the staff members of GDC RS Pura.
The program was followed by a symposium competition which witnessed a participation of 10 students. Mridul Sharma bagged 1st position, Sarbjeet Heera bagged 2nd position and Manpreet Kour scored 3rd position.
The welcome address was given by Prof Vijeta Anand and vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch. Other dignitaries present in the event were Dr Rajinder Sharma (convener IQAC), Prof Shifali Abrol, Prof Anju Kumari, Prof Rajinder Singh and Prof Sanjeev Kumar.
