SAMBA, May 3: Government Degree College Samba has been declared as NAAC Accredited at Grade ‘B‘ for a period of five years from May 1, 2019, the result of which was declared by National Assessment and Accreditation Council Bengluru.
The three member Peer Team, comprising of Dr Namadeo Jagannath Pawar, Vice Chancellor, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune as the Chairperson; Prof B R Kaushal, Professor, Department of Zoology, Kumaun University, DSB Campus, Nainital and Dr Manjit Kaur, Principal, Govt College of Commerce and Business Administration, Chandigarh, had visited the college last week for NAAC inspection of the college.
The two day visit included interaction with Principal of the College, Dr G S Rakwal; Coordinator IQAC, Dr M S Pathania; all the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff, students, parents, alumni and all other stake holders of the college. The Peer team interacted with the various departments, members of the committees and various support services. Document verification and visits to the facilities of the college like the classrooms, offices, library, canteen and others were also done. The programme of various activities was coordinated by Convenor IQAC, Dr M S Pathania of the college.
Students and staff of the college celebrated this event with great enthusiasm. College Principal, Dr G S Rakwal congratulated all the students, student council, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and the staff for their dedicated work and excellent contribution in the process of NAAC accreditation of the College. He appreciated the role of coordinator NAAC Steering Committee Dr M S Pathania and his team and all the college staff for the hard work they put towards this great academic activity. A staff meeting was also convened by the Principal on this occasion in which the NAAC Peer team report was discussed with all the staff members along with recommendations for quality enhancement of the institution by the NAAC Peer Team.
In the light of recommendation of the NAAC Peer Team, the college Principal assured the staff to implement the recommendations on priority and asked the staff to gear up for next cycle and work with dedication to make the institute a model institute of learning.
