Gen Hooda briefs CM on security situation

JAMMU:
General officer commanding in chief of the Udhampur-based Northern Command Lt General D S Hooda today called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed and briefed him about the prevailing security situation in the State.
“Northern Command Chief Lt General D S Hooda called on Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here today,” an official spokesman said.
He said during their hour-long meeting, Gen Hooda briefed the chief minister about the present security situation in all the three regions of the state.
“The Chief Minister also discussed with the Northern Command Chief several issues related to Army support to civil administration in a time-bound manner in rebuilding infrastructure damaged due to floods, particularly damaged bridges,” he said.
He said Gen Hooda also briefed the chief minister about the possibility of accessing for improved connectivity Optical Fiber Cable Network laid by them, especially in Ladakh region.
“He also assured all support for smooth movement of traffic on the National Highway, which has been severely affected due to difficult weather conditions,” the spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
