General Category JAC appeals PM to shun appeasement policy

JAMMU, May 21: Joint Action Committee (general category) Jammu and Kashmir and Jammu Kashmir General Category Welfare Forum today held general body meeting of its district units here at Brahman Sabha under the leadership of Ved Prakash Sharma, convenor and president Brahman Sabha.
Narayan Singh, president Rajput Sabha, Syed Shamim, president Jammu Kashmir General Category Welfare Forum, Capt Anil Gour, secretary (Org) JAC, Sudhir Gupta, Ex-.SE PDD Jammu among others were also present to discuss the recent developments on the subject of Reservation in Promotions.
The meeting deliberated on the recent report submitted by Department of Personnel and Training [DoPT] to Prime Minister on the issue of Reservation in Promotions. The report submitted by DoPT has suggested for bringing in the constitutional amendment Bill to nullify the judgments of the Supreme Court on the issue of granting Reservations in Promotions.
The members in unequivocal terms emphasized that BJP Government must refrain from bringing any such amendment on Reservation in Promotions and respect the verdict of Supreme Court. The members were unanimous in the opinion that any such act of the BJP Government will be taken as a final blow to general category and in future the whole general category masses shall oppose the BJP candidates and prefer to press NOTA option in all elections on account of betrayal by the BJP.
Ved Prakash Sharma, JAC convenor, intimated to the members to be prepared for do or die battle as the Centre was planning to bring a constitutional amendment Bill in the Parliament to negate the Judgments passed by Supreme Court in the matter. He vociferiously appealed to members to take the message to the MLAs and MPs of BJP to refrain from bringing in this amendment bill.
J&K General Category Welfare Forum led by its president Syed Shamim exhorted upon the State and Central Government to refrain from partisan politics and allow the rule of law to prevail.
Narayan Singh, president Rajput Sabha strongly condemned the stand of Department of Personnel and Training and urged Dr Jitendra Singh to review the stand and allow the Rule of law and justice to prevail failing which the general category people not only in Jammu Kashmir but all over India will throw the present Government out of power and teach them a lesson.
Capt Anil Gour announced that the Joint Action Committee shall shortly intimate its protest programme through media and general category people will participate in large numbers sending strong message to the Pro Reservation Parties and Government of India to refrain from appeasement politics otherwise they will be thrown out of power.
