JAMMU, Mar 12: A meeting of General Line Teachers Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Neeraj Sharma, president, for highlighting their general demands.
The meet urged the new Government, especially the Education Minister Naeem Akhter and MoS Priya Sethi for the early redressal of the genuine demands of the whole teaching community and also correcting all the wrong decisions taken by the previous Government, which derailed the whole Education system.
The meet demanded that the Government should set a system/prepare a policy for the timely release of NPS grants as the teachers and whole Department, who fall under this scheme, are without salary for the last 4-5 months.
The meet also highlighted some other demands, such as general adjustment of all the teachers promoted to Masters in Feb 2114, immediate issuance of the list of SSB selected Teachers of Jammu, strict implementation of transfer policy, etc.
Those who spoke in the meeting, included Digvijay Singh, Sonu Sharma, Sunil Singh, Dr Sudesh Sharma, Amit Dabgotra and others.
