JAMMU, Mar 30: A deputation of apex body of General Line Teachers Forum, led by its State president Neeraj Sharma, today called on Director School Education Rakesh Kumar Sarangal and submitted him a memorandum of demands for the welfare of students as well as of teaching community.
Neeraj Sharma discussed various demands, which included;  issuance of general confirmation order in favour of all those employees who have completed their two years of satisfactory regular probation period of services, no in-service training during the peak studies time and at the time of examination at the cost of studies of the students, early conduct of new DPC of teachers to Masters as there are more than 3000 vacant posts of Masters in Jammu division and also to conduct DPC of Lab Assistant to Teachers as per fixed quota reserved for them.
Neeraj Sharma further demanded cancellation of all the attachment, deployment of teachers, Masters, Lecturers, ReTs at ZEO, CEO, DIET, SI and Directorate as teacher is fundamentally meant for teaching and not for clerical work. This practice has already done irreparable loss to the thousands of students in the school and this is the reason today many schools have become defunct or at the verge of closer owing to the unavailability of such teachers, he added.
Neeraj Sharma further urged the Director to issue an order for the repatriation of ReTs to their original place of engagement as this is the main reason why no posts of teacher were advertised in Jammu district as these ReTs have occupied the clear vacancy of the General Line Teacher, which are otherwise referred to Service Selection Board for direct recruitment.
The Director assured early redressal of all the genuine demands.
Those who were part of the deputation, included Dr Parshotam Singh, Digvijay Singh, Jivakant, Rakesh, Munish, Vivek, Tejinder and others.
