JAMMU, Oct 9: General Line Teachers Forum today protested for implementation of ATD- 2022 and immediate compliance of the Government orders pertaining to the drive for transfers and postings.
The protest was held under the leadership of Neeraj Sharma, President of JK General Line Teachers Forum, who sought the reason for unprecedented delay in completion of ATD.
“The authorities are not complying to their own initiatives. The undue delays or probably stalling of the final execution of ATD itself is consolidating the belief that the erstwhile transfer industry is still dominant which had remained dormant for months,” said Neeraj Sharma.
He urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta to issue directions to heads of the departments to transfer all the employees with more than five years of stay at a particular place of posting.
“The new Principal Secretary is requested to give his opinions pertaining to errors and wrongdoings in the ATD and put an end to the harassments faced by the teachers who are waiting for conclusion of ATD process, which has been going on for the last several months,” said Neeraj Sharma, adding that the cancellation of transfers of 2019 as well as ATD-2021 and the maintenance of deafening silence upon the final execution of ATD-2022 have made a mockery of the system.
He further pointed out that around 1500 to 2000 posts of Masters are lying vacant but the DPC pertaining to the promotion of Teachers to Master has been kept in delay for reasons best known to the concerned authorities.
The Forum leaders alleged that a number of Teachers & Masters were enjoying the patronage of higher officials by remaining attached/deployed in non-teaching activities at various offices viz, DIET, ZEO, SDM, CEO, Director of Education, SCERT, SIE, Municipality etc. The Forum demanded immediate detachment of such Teachers and Masters to their original place of posting.
President of Employees Joint Action Committee, Babu Hussain Malik also took part in the demonstration for extending solidarity with the protesting teachers. Tajinder Singh, Ramneesh Khajuria, Dr Sudesh, Mukesh, Vikas, Dr Vinod, Rakesh Prasar, Anil Sharma, Satish Chadha, Vijay Kumar, Pali Mohan Gupta and others attended the protest demonstration.
