NEW YORK, Apr 4: “Star Trek” icon George Takei is turning his family’s painful past during World War Two into a graphic novel.
The Japanese-American actor and his relatives were forced to leave their Los Angeles home and live in a US internment camp in Arkansas following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941.
Takei was just five-years-old when his family was relocated, and now he is set to tell his story in the form of a child-friendly comic book as part of his “ongoing mission of spreading awareness of this disgraceful chapter of American history,” reported the New York Times.
The 79-year-old actor plans to release the project next year. (PTI)
