JAMMU, Jan 31: Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on his 72nd death anniversary, Gandhi Global Family (GGF) J&K organized a mega event here wherein thousands of people from all walks of life participated and paid glowing tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.
On this occasion, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Advisor to Governor presided over the function which was jointly organized by Gandhi Global Family, United Nations Information Centre India & Bhutan, National Gandhi Museum, Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Association of People of Asia, Gandhi Peace Foundation and other allied organizations to pay tributes to Gandhi Ji.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganai described Gandhi Ji as one of the tallest leaders of India who exercised maximum influence during the freedom struggle and laid down a clear path for the country to follow after independence.
President, GGF J&K, Dr S.P Varma said that GGF will continue to spread the message of Gandhi Ji among masses.
He advised the youth to follow the footsteps of ‘Father of the Nation’ and see themselves as active agents of change in the glory and progress of the country.
Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Anju Bhasin, former Ministers, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, R.C Chib, Gurcharan Singh Charak, Lt. Gen. Rakesh Sharma (Retd), Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma and others were also present.
