Ghagwal police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 14 animals

SAMBA, Sept 4: In its continuous drive against the bovine smuggling launched by district police Samba, a police party of Police Station, Ghagwal foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 14 bovines.
Police said on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, a police party of P/S Ghagwal headed by SI Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during routine naka checking at NHW Tapyal signaled a truck bearing registration number, JK02AF- 3911 which was coming from Kathua side to stop. The driver on seeing the police party accelerated the speed of the vehicle and abandoned it at NHW Jatwal after being chased by the police.
During checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which was being transported illegally without any permission. The vehicle was seized on the spot and all the bovines were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No. 116/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and further investigation is going on.
