SAMBA, Sept 14: Police late last night rescued 14 bovine animals and seized the vehicle in which they were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley.
According to reports Tata vehicle 407 bearing number JK02 AC 9811 which was carrying 14 bovines to Kashmir Valley broke the Police Naka at Ghagwal late last night and fled. However the alert police party led by SHO Ghagwal Chaman Lal Gorkah chased the vehicle and caught it at Vijaypur.
But the driver of the vehicle managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The police rescued the bovine animals and seized the vehicle. The Ghagwal Police has also registered a case against the driver and started search for him.
