Ghagwal police rescues 21 bovine animals

SAMBA, Feb 5: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, once again Ghagwal police foiled bovine smuggling attempt.
On the intervening night of 4.5/1/2018 police party headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO, P/S Ghagwal on the basis of information laid a naka at Tapyal. During the naka duty police signaled truck bearing registration No. JK02AL/0685 to stop but driver of vehicle instead of stopping accelerated his vehicle and tried to escape. But police party chased the truck and intercepted vehicle after a short chase.
On checking police party found 16 bovines laden in it and were tied with ropes mercilessly. Driver of truck managed to flee from spot after taking advantage of darkness. In this connection a case FIR No.26/2018 U/S 188 RPC,2/3 PAC Act stands registered.
Similarly after half an hour same police team signaled another Tata Mahindra vehicle bearing registration No.JK21B/9403 and signaled it to stop but its driver didn’t stop and tried to escape. But police party intercepted the Mahindra vehicle after short distance and on checking found 5 bovines laden in it instantly case FIR No.27/18 U/s 188,2/3 PC’s Act stands registered. The operations were conducted under the direction of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra and close supervision of DySP Headquarter Deepak Digra.
