SAMBA, Feb, 13: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, district police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing five animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted a Mahindra vehicle with Registration Number JKO8F /9894. During checking, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 24/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
