REASI, Oct 7: GHS School Salal clinched first position in dance, GHSS Laiter topped in theatre, GHS Surjandhar stood first in visual arts and crafts and Government Girl HS Pouni took lead in music in a district level competition organized by Education Department here today.
The event was organized under Kala Utsav Festival with the theme “Ek Bharat Sareshth Bharat” to showcase local music, art, culture and dance of different areas.
The students’ teams were drawn from 14 High and Higher secondary schools across six zones which competed in four components viz. Music, dance, and theatre and visual arts.
It is worthwhile to say that all the participating students’ teams of district Reasi represented their culture in best way to impress the audience. Their performance included local songs, traditions, eating habits, ways of living, languages and some social evils of rural areas.
Pertinently, all the four top performing teams will have to represent the district at province level competition, and thereafter, the best assessed teams of three regions will participate in State level Kala Utsav.
The chief guest DDC Prasana Ramaswamy G encouraged the students to come forward in all fields and work with full dedication.
Among others present were Chief Education Officer BS Jaral, ZEOs, ZEPOs, huge gathering of locals, students, teachers, institutional heads and guests.
