UDHAMPUR, May 22: A young girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her house in Kaghot, Ramnagar.
The deceased, identified as Asha Devi (18), daughter of Mohan Lal of Kaghot, consumed some poisonous substance last night and fell unconscious. Family members took her to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of her critical condition.
Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, the girl did not respond to the treatment and breathed her last this evening.
Cause behind taking such an extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
