JAMMU, Dec 20: An 18-year old girl committed suicide allegedly by consuming some poisonous substance at her home in Ranjan area falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota police station.
According to a police spokesperson, the girl identified as Jyoti Devi, wife of Madan Lal, a resident of Ranjan consumed some poisonous substance at her home following which her family members shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she breathed her last during treatment.
The dead body was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
The concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
