JAMMU, Aug 20: A young girl died under mysterious circumstances on the intervening night of Aug 19 and 20 at her home, with family members alleging that she died due to wrong treatment by a private doctor.
The deceased lady has been identified as Sahodra Bi (19), daughter of Sheet Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh (at present Greater Kailash).
According to a police spokesperson, if the family members of the deceased are to be believed the girl who was suffering from a disease, last evening had gone to a private doctor at Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts. However, after taking prescribed medicines by the doctor, the condition of the girl deteriorated around midnight following which she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
The spokesperson said that a case under 174 CrPC has been registered at police station Gangyal and investigations started. After completing medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased girl was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
