KATHUA, Dec 1: A 12 year old girl died after the scooty she was driving skidded off the road at village Gandor in Kathua district today.
The deceased has been identified as Ruksana Akhtar, 22, D/o Manzoor Ali of Hatli More. Police said Rukhsana was learning driving in village Gandor and she accelerated the speed as a matador was crossing the road but failed to control the two- wheeler. The scooty skidded off the road resulting into serious head injury to the girl that led to her instant death.
The girl was rushed to District Hospital Kathua and after postmortem the dead body was handed over to family for burial.
Lakhanpur Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
