Girl jumps into Ranbir canal

JAMMU, Sept 29: A girl today attempted to commit suicide allegedly by jumping into Ranbir canal in this winter capital of the State.
“An 18-year-old girl, a resident of Paloura this evening jumped into Ranbir canal from a bridge near AG Office falling under the jurisdiction of police station Bakshi Nagar,” police sources here said.
They said the flying squad gypsy deployed in the area immediately rushed to the spot, rescued the girl and shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Bakshi Nagar and investigations are underway.
