Girl killed, 7 injured in truck-load carrier’s collision

JAMMU, Mar 22: An eight-year-old girl died while seven others were injured in the collision of a truck and a load carrier in Jammu, police said today.
They said the accident occurred at Sunjwan Morh on the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday, resulting in injuries to eight people including three girls.
“All the injured were taken to Government Medical College Jammu where one of them succumbed to her injuries today,” Incharge Police Post Narwal, Lalit Sharma told the Excelsior.
Police identified the deceased as Mumtaz (08) daughter of Mohammad Sadiq, while the injured have been identified as Liaqat Ali (22) son of Mohammad Mirza, Noor Elahi (60) son of Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Arshad (20) son of Ghulab Din Choudhary, Haleema Bano (40) wife of Mohammad Sadiq, Wahid (04 months) daughter of Mohammad Yaqoob, Mehnaz (06) daughter of Mohammad Yaqoob, and Rafi (33) son of Gami, all residents of Lale Da Bagh, Sangrampur.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and taken up further investigations.
