JAMMU, Aug 26: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a Sarpanch in Gharota area of this winter capital.
A police spokesman said that the girl along with her family members lodged a complaint with police station Gharota today, that sarpanch Milki Ram of village Gorda had allegedly raped her on August 13.
After registering a case under FIR number 77/13 under Section 376 and 506 RPC at Police Station Gharota, police started investigation, he said, adding that the girl has been sent for medical examination, whose reports are awaited.
However, no arrest has been made till late night.
