UDHAMPUR, May 6: Mystery shrouded the death of a girl whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan hook in the rental house, at Housing Colony, Udhampur town here today.
The deceased, identified as Poonam Devi (17), daughter of Tika Ram, resident of village Japur, in district Satherpur, Madhya Pradesh (MP), was at present residing in Ward No. 17 Housing Colony, Udhampur. She was found hanging with ceiling fan hook of the room under mysterious circumstances.
On being informed by family members, Udhampur police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to District Hospital, Udhampur for postmortem.
The Police has registered a case in this connection under Section 174 CrPC for further investigation. The locals claimed that the deceased appeared to have committed suicide for the unknown reasons.
