KATHUA, June 29: Dead body of a young girl belonging to Gujjar family was found lying on the rail track near Maggar Khud in Kathua area early today.
Reports said one Ruksana Bibi, daughter of Bania Meen, resident of Maggar Khud was lodged at Nari Niketan, Kathua. She slipped away from the ‘home’ during night and her body was found lying on the railway track near Kathua this morning. The police party shifted the body to hospital and later handed over to the family after conducting postmortem.
The police said that the girl had earlier eloped with a local youth Joginder Singh of Ghota Chak in Kathua. After they were traced, the boy had also committed suicide under the train. The girl who was in love with the youth came to know about it and also followed the suit. A case under section 174 CrPC has been registered in this connection.
