JAMMU, June 8: Girls virtually eclipsed the boys in BA/ BSc/B Com/BCA/BBA Part Final examinations securing 45 positions out of a total of 53 in five faculties. The Jammu University declared the results tonight.
Sixth-five per cent students passed the exam. A total of 18,696 students had appeared.
Though the girls maintained dominance in all five faculties, they claimed all 10 positions in Commerce.
First three positions in prestigious Science faculty were claimed by all three students of Government College for Women, Parade Ground. Era Mehta topped in Science with 88.78 per cent marks while Sakshi Raina followed her with 85.75 per cent and Nitika Sharma with 85.69 per cent.
Asif Javed of Government Degree College, Doda bagged fourth position taking 84.42 per cent marks while fifth position went to Priyanka Sharma of Government Degree College (Boys), Udhampur, who took 84.06 per cent marks.
Niharika from Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar secured sixth position taking 83.51 per cent marks while Shivani Pathania Government Women Degree College, Kathua bagged seventh position securing 83.45 per cent marks.
Anu Radha got eighth position for Government College for Women, Udhampur with 83.27 per cent marks while Kunal Sharma of GGM Science College, Jammu claimed ninth spot in the merit list with 83.21 per cent marks.
Noopur Sharma grabbed 10th position with 82.96 per cent marks. She was a student of Government Women Degree College, Kathua.
All 10 toppers in Commerce faculty were girls. Nine of them were students of Government College for Women, Parade Ground.
Vriti Jain of GCW Parade Ground stood first with 73.15 per cent marks while Shallu Manhotra of the same College came second with 72.55 per cent marks. Parwali Gupta and Shina Gupta of the same College claimed third and fourth positions taking 72.3 and 72.15 per cent marks.
Government Degree College, Kathua student Avneet Kour got fifth position with 71.85 per cent marks.
Yamini Gupta (71.8 per cent), Shefali Gupta (71.25 per cent), Mansi Koushal (70.9 per cent), Richa Sharma (70.85 per cent) and Mehak Gupta (70.65 per cent) secured sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively. All of them were students of Government College for Women, Parade Ground.
In Arts stream, Aashriti Gautam of Government Degree College, Kathua claimed first position by taking 78.66 per cent marks, whereas, Nitika Sambyal of Government Degree College, Samba claimed second position by securing 77.33 per cent marks. Anshul Gupta of Government MAM College took third position (75.09 per cent).
Sahil Randhawa of Government MAM College secured 74.96 per cent marks and bagged fourth position, Nitani Bakshi and Kanika Gupta, both from Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar secured 74.90 per cent marks and shared fifth rank, Swati Vijay of Government College for Women, Parade and Vivek Pathak of Government Degree College, Kathua shared sixth position by taking 74.78 per cent marks. Suman Kumari of Government College for Women, Udhampur claimed seventh position by securing 74.30 per cent marks.
Nitani Bakshi, who secured Fifth position in Arts, has also made a mark as a national player in table tennis.
Surbhi Sharma of Government College for Women, Parade secured 74.24 per cent marks and took eighth position, Minakshi Devi of Government Degree College, Kathua claimed ninth position by taking 73.93 per cent marks and Polina Singh of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar secured 10th position by securing 73.33 per cent marks.
In BCA stream, Rudrika Kalsotra of Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur claimed first position by taking 80.96 per cent marks, whereas, Sagrika Mahajan of New Gandhi Memorial College claimed second position by securing 78.54 per cent marks.
Priyanka Singh of Government College for Women, Parade secured 78.06 per cent marks and claimed third rank, Karan Kumar of GGM Science College secured fourth position by taking 77.75 per cent marks and Monika of Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur secured fifth position by securing 76.72 per cent marks.
Rahul Sawhney of GGM Science College secured 76.36 per cent marks and took sixth rank, Renu Sharma of Government MAM College claimed seventh position by taking 75.63 per cent marks while Pooja Anand of Government College for Women, Parade secured eight position by securing 75.33 per cent marks.
Rashmi Sharma of Tawi Institute of Management and Science took 9th position by taking 75.15 per cent marks and Pallvi of Government College for Women, Parade secured 10th position by securing 73.93 per cent marks.
In BBA stream, Rithima Oberoi of Dogra Degree College, Bari Brahmana secured first position by taking 77.66 per cent marks, whereas, Gurpreet Kaur of SPM Rajput College of Commerce claimed second position by securing 77.33 per cent marks.
Natasha Thakur of Tawi Institute of Management and Science took third position by bagging 77.19 per cent marks, Manmeet Kour Kala of Sant Rocha Singh Degree College, Bablian claimed fourth position by taking 76.90 per cent marks, Radhu Gupta of Dogra Degree College secured fifth position by securing 76.57 per cent marks, Govinder Pal Singh of New Gandhi Memorial College secured 76.19 per cent marks and took sixth position.
The seventh position was secured by Furqan Muzeffar Ashai of SPM Rajput College of Commerce, who secured 76.14 percent marks, Kirandeep Kour of Sant Rocha Singh Degree College secured 75.57 per cent marks and claimed seventh position, Mahak Devi of SPM Rajput College of Commerce took 8th position by securing 74.19 per cent marks.
Bisma Fayaz of Trikuta Degree College and Renu Kumari of Tawi Institute of Management and Science shared 10th position by securing 74 per cent marks.
