JAMMU, July 27: Apni Party youth leader, Muktesh Yogi has appealed the Lieutenant Governor, J&K, Manoj Sinha to announce age relaxation in the recruitment of constables in the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP).
While expressing his concern, Yogi explained that after a long-awaited period, the new vacancies have generated immense enthusiasm among the youth of Jammu, but the current upper age limit of 28 years for eligibility has caused concern among many aspiring candidates who find themselves marginally over this age threshold due to the extended hiatus since the last recruitment.
Muktesh urged the LG to consider an age relaxation, proposing an increase in the upper age limit from 28 years. This adjustment would provide a fair opportunity for many deserving candidates who have aged out due to the recruitment gap, he added.
Although it is a welcome step to advertise the 4000 posts for constables, the Government should give one time age relaxation to the unemployed youth so that they could get employment in the police, He also hoped that the Government would expedite recruitment process by filling up vacant posts in other departments.
