JAMMU, Nov 1: Senior Congress leader, Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture and MLA Gandhi Nagar Constituency Raman Bhalla hoped that the common masses, this time rising above the divisive politics of religion, regionalism and casteism, will vote for development of the State.
Minister stated this while addressing public meetings in Bahu Fort and Uttam Nagar, Kunjwani in Gandhi Nagar constituency here today.
He asked the people to give befitting reply to all divisive forces and vote in favour of Congress party candidates, so as to help the party in forming Government in J&K.
Minister stated that the remarkable works done by Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir benefited the common masses to get their problems solved at their door steps.
He stated that the people of the whole State witnessed unimaginable growth and development after Ghulam Nabi Azad took over as its Chief Minister in year 2005.
Apart from creating unthinkable infrastructural facilities across Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Azad, continued the spree of growth and development, whether it was creation of new administrative units, opening of health centres, new ITI, polytechnic, degree colleges and upgradation of various high and higher secondary schools.
Mr Bhalla said that Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to down trodden people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and all their issues will be settled on priority basis after the formation of the next Government in the State led by Congress Chief Minister.
He exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secularism policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities are given a befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the State.
The meeting in Bahu Fort was organized by Harjeet Fouji and attended by Rakesh Kumar, Diwan Chand, Rasalu Ram and large number of residents, whileas in Uttam Nagar, Kunjwani, the meeting was organised by Dr Vijay Sharma and attended by Purshotam Kumar, Yog Raj, Dev Raj, Jatinder, Kuldeep, Kamal Choudhary, Neelam, Priyanka and large number of people.
