SAMBA, Dec 15: Advocating more powers to the security forces, former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today criticized those who want to cut short the powers of security forces in J&K.
“Instead of snatching powers, Army and other Para military forces needs to be given more powers to curb anti national activities”, Singh said.
He was speaking in a function at Chak Pambo village near International Border (IB) organised to pay homage Second Lieutenant Captain Bahadur Singh, who was martyred in 1971 war with Pakistan.
Singh said that the border people in Army and Para military forces have laid their lives, while the people living on International Border have also made nation proud with their sacrifices and patriotism.
He appealed the people to follow the foot step of the martyrs who laid down their lives without their personnel interest for the cause of nation.
