JAMMU, Oct 10: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under it’s chairman B K Raina today.
During the meeting which was attended by all the members of the organisation discussed the problems of displaced Pandits from Valley and issue of nomination of two MLAs from displaced community to the Assembly.
Addressing the meeting AIMCCC chief, Desh Ratten Pandita said that Modi Government has taken many bold steps to take country on the path of progress and development to make it Vishwa Guru. He gave all credit to Modi Government for conducting of elections in the UT of J&K in a transparent and peaceful manner.
He said the situation has totally changed in Kashmir during Modi rule which had deteriorated due to follies of previous Governments.
The meeting, while appreciating the Government for reserving two seats for displaced Pandits in Assembly, one for PoJK refugees and two other for ladies from the UT demanded that two persons among KP migrants to be nominated from those members of the community who have worked for the community and national cause from ground zero during the last three decades of the turmoil.
The meeting said the parachute nominations will not be beneficial for community. It requested that those people who have worked during these hard years for the cause of community in camp and non camp areas be nominated to the Assembly in case the Government is interested in giving true representation to the community. The meeting also made an appeal to Prime Minister and Home Minister seeking their immediate intervention in the matter.
