JAMMU, Sept 7: Giving due recognition to martyrs is a must in every society, stated Sanjay Kumar Baru, State convener J&K BJP Urban Local Body Cell and JMC councillor in a media interaction here at Talab Tillo today.
JMC cuncillor, Sat Paul Karlupia and BJP Ward president, Ashok Singh Wazir were also present in the press conference.
Sanjay Kumar Baru said that many historic steps are being ensured in the new India under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. And especially J&K is witness to a major reformation after the abrogation of controversial Articles 370 & 35(a). He said and added that a phase enriched with unprecedented development ensued in the whole of J&K.
Sanjay further said that in the same line there is an effort to give recognition to the historic persons who have contributed majorly in the social service, defense, Independence etc. by renaming Government schools and roads after their name. He said that this move will surely give boost to the feeling of patriotism in the younger generations for years to come.
Baru said that yesterday Bhagwati Nagar Chowk near fourth bridge has been named after Major Somnath Sharma (the first recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration) and said that the resolution has also been passed in the JMC to install the statue of Major Somnath Sharma in the same Chowk in the near future.
Baru added that the name of Talab Tillo road has been also decided by administration after the Shaheed Vijay Singh as Shaheed Vijay Singh Marg, who was martyred while fighting with the terrorists.
Sat Paul Karlupia also appreciated the move saying that this will help in gaining insight into our rich heritage and passing on of the heritage into our generations. He also shared his joyous movement while saying that Shaheed Vijay Singh belonged to Talab Tillo area and we all feel proud at this moment.
