GKPD to launch movement against KPs genocide: Koul

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 5: Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD) founder Member, Dr Surinder Koul today said that the Political Steering Committee (PSC) was a logical outcome of the successful campaign launched by his organization.
In a statement issued here, today he said the alarming current political discourse has made the PSC an imperative. He further stated that PSC will raise awareness within the Indian public, media, decision makers on Kashmiri Pandits genocide and secure and sustainable resettlement in the Valley.
Chairperson of GKPD and prominent KP leader, Moti Koul said that he is overwhelmed by the quality of the volunteers for the membership of the Committee. They are icons who served the community over the course of a lifetime in leadership positions. Drawn from the entire spectrum of the KP diaspora they are testimony to the seriousness that the community attaches to this initiative, he added .
Koul further stated that for the past 30 years the governance stakeholders have failed abjectly to address the community’s demands for justice. NC’s recent call for pre 1953 Constitutional status has already been declared by the Interlocutors Commission as leading to a dangerous constitutional vacuum. At the same time, Congress manifesto is a defacto abdication to the forces responsible for KPs genocide in Kashmir. He said Kashmir needs strong and clean governance founded by rule of the law based on tenets of Constitution.
Koul said he will embark on nationwide tour in this regard and launch mass movement against KP genocide and for the basic rights of the community.
