RAMBAN, Nov 10: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Girdhari Lal Bhagat, who had filed his nomination papers as BJP candidate from Ramban Assembly Constituency a few days ago, joined National Conference in presence of Chief Minister and Working President Omar Abduallh after announcing his retirement from the contest.
Welcoming Mr Bhagat in the party fold at a rally in Ramban this evening, Omar Abdullah expressed the hope that his joining will further strengthen National Conference at grass roots level.
Mr Bhagat pledged his support to National Conference candidate Dr Chaman Lal, saying he and his associates would work for ensuring his victory with a huge margin from the Ramban Constituency.
Provincial President Devender Singh Rana was also present on the occasion.
