KATHUA, Dec 10: Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Government Degree College (GLDM GDC), Hiranagar, in collaboration with the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Center (MMTTC) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra launched an 8-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) focusing on “NEP Orientation and Sensitization.”
The online program, running from 9th to 18th December, aims to equip faculty members with a deeper understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP) and its implications for higher education.
Dr Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, is the patron of the program and has been instrumental in supporting this initiative, emphasizing the importance of enhancing faculty awareness and understanding of the NEP’s transformative vision for education.
The program is being conducted under the leadership of Dr Supran K Sharma, Director of MMTTC, SMVDU, and Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal of GLDM GDC, Hiranagar.
The inaugural session of the FDP began with a welcome address by Dr Pabitra Kumar Jena, a member of MMTTC, SMVDU, who provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s objectives, structure, and expected outcomes.
Dr Pragya Khanna, in her address, stressed the significance of NEP in reshaping the education sector in India. She acknowledged the efforts of Prof Roopali Jamwal and Dr Bharat Bhushan for their role in organizing the event.
Dr Supran K Sharma, highlighted the importance of the program content, which includes 16 sessions over 8 days, with two sessions scheduled daily.
The first session, delivered by Dr Anil Bhardwaj of SMVDU, focused on “Skill Development,” followed by a session on the “Indian Knowledge System” by Prof DR Thakur, Director of MMTTC, HPU, Shimla. A total of 191 participants have registered, underscoring a strong interest in professional development.
