Global age index of oldies

Sir,
The number of oldies is increasing in every part of the world the reason behind this is improvement in the health care of the people. As reported by Global  age watch index,  Norway stands worldwide in a better position in caring oldies who have attained the age of 60 or more. Opposite to Norway is Afghanistan where oldies suffer heavily. Sweden that had once distinction of No. 1 among all the countries of the world in oldies protection has now gone down to No. 2 position. Switzerland, Canada and Germany stand on 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively in the index of oldies watch and ward. In the list of oldies  protection, six countries belong to western Europe, two of north America and one each of Asia and Australia continents.
In this context, Afghanistan stands in the black list so far as care in respect of oldies is concerned. Our neighbour Pakistan is the sixth black listed country of the world  in this matter. As reported the population of oldies those who have attained 60 year age will go up to 29 crores during the current middle of the 21st century. In China it is expected that old population will rise to 45 crores and in America one third of  her population will complete 60 years of their age during the middle of this country. Helpage International is doing commendable job in this field and devising various ways and means to help oldies in their advanced age. Old age pension scheme has been launched in a number of countries to provide relief to the old people. Old age homes have become safer places for the oldiees in the prevailing situation in and around. Although oldies stand protected as per law of the land but its operation and implementation needs to be prompt and speedy when and where oldies get neglected. Moreover Govts should envisage a health scheme for the oldies on the pattern of Western countries of the world.
Yours etc….
