JAMMU, Oct 30: Glowing tributes were paid to Dr K L Chowdhury a well known physician, a community think tank, a senior KP leader and an eminent writer on his first death anniversary here, today.
A Shradhanjali programme was organized by the Mission Hospital in Jammu. Hundreds of social activists, intellectuals and the doctors and the para medical staff attended the function. A tribute was given to Dr.Chowdhury by organizing a programme in which eminent personalities like Dr.K.N. Pandita, Dr. Bali (Nephrologist), Ramesh Manwati from Delhi, Sunil Thusoo (president KMECT), Sanjay Dhar (convener Sharika Foundation), A.K.Raina (Ex-Director Education), Dr.A.K.Pandita spoke on the life and social and political role of Dr.K.L.Chowdhury.
While speaking, Dr.K.N.Pandita informed that the city state concept for repatriation of K.P migrant population in the Kashmir Valley was the idea of Dr. K.L.Chowdhury. He described that this concept is the only right solution for repatriation of the exiled population. He informed that the Government has not even two minutes to listen to the problems of the KPs, while they are making tall claims in whole India for the re-settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.
Dr.Bali described Dr.Chowdhury a very genius doctor and a positive thinker and the best teacher he has ever seen.
Dr. A.K.Pandita remembered his days with Dr.Chowdhury, Sunil Thusoo reaffirmed that the vision of the Dr.Chowdhury will be fulfilled. He appealed the community to join hands for the dream project of the Shirya Bhatt Mission Hospital.
Manwati, while recollecting the atrocities on the K.Ps said, that nothing has changed as far as the settlement and development of exiled population is concerned. No doubt the Government is doing all good things for the public but the Kashmiri Pandits are neglected totally.
A documentary on the Medical Mission and life of Dr.Chowdhury was displayed in the programme. The organizers Ramesh Raina, R.K.Pandita and Sanjay Dhar assured community for working vigorously for fulfilling the dream of Dr.Chowdhury.
