JAMMU, Mar 21: Glowing tribute were paid to Sher Duggar, former national president of Bhartiya Jana Sangh and founder of Praja Parishad Movement, Pt Prem Nath Dogra on his 51st death anniversary by leaders of various organizations here, today.
In this connection a function was organised by Pt Prem Nath Dogra Trust at Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan Kachhi Chawni. The programme started with Hawan followed by Shardhanjali and Bhajan.
Chairman of the Trust Parshotam Dadhichi in his address while paying glowing tribute to Pt Prem Nath Dogra said he was a great son of the soil who established himself as a national leader with his hard work, honesty, selfless service and patriotism.
On the occasion, Ranjeet Singh, Surinder Aggarwal, Ramesh Sabharwal, Bishan Dass Sharma, were honoured as they had worked with Pt Prem Nath Dogra during his life time and Praja Parishad movement.
Shiv Kumar Gupta was the chief guest in the programme. The Trust made an appeal to UT Government to pay special attention and earmark special budget for the development of Pt Prem Nath Dogra birth place at Smailpur. A resolution was adopted impressing upon the UT Government to establish a chair in the Jammu University in the name of Pt Prem Nath Dogra so that the coming generations can know about his contribution and struggle and can also research on his life which was dedicated to strengthening of nationalist forces in J&K.
Those who paid tribute to great Dogra leader included Prant Sangchalak RSS, Dr Gautam Mengi, Mayor, Rajinder Sharma, BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul, party national secretary, Narinder Singh, VHP, J&K president, Leela Karan Sharma, former Deputy CMs, Dr Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta, former Ministers, Sat Sharma and Dr D K Manyal, former MLA , Ashok Khajuria, former Minister, Priya Sethi, Mahant Rameshwar Dass, BJP senior leader, Chander Mohan Sharma, general secretary, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Prabhat Singh, DDC Chairman, Bharat Bushan, BJP district Jammu president, Pramodh Kapahi, JMC chairman, Arun Khanna, former MLC, Girdhari Lal Raina, Th Narayan Singh, former Dy Mayor, Purnima Sharma, S S Nanda, Daya Ram and Subash Jandyal.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof Kulbushan Mahotra and welcome address was given by Aseem Gupta senior BJP leader.
