JAMMU, Mar 30: Rich tributes were paid to martyr Deepak Thusoo (Deepu) who laid down his life along with his other colleagues while fighting the dreaded terrorists in Kupwara jungles of Kashmir valley on March 21 on the occasion of his 10th day ceremony which was performed at Jagti township today. Those who paid tributes included leaders of various political parties and KP organizations.
Showing sympathy with bereaved family the gathering described martyr Deepak a valiant soldier who never showed his back but was always ready to take on with enemy from front. They said entire nation is proud of martyrs like Deepak and his other colleagues who laid down their lives in fighting the terrorists.
On the occasion a Shanti path was performed in the memory of the martyr by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi who was joined by entire gathering. He also recited the Shalukhas of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta
Pintoo Ji a social activist managed the programme and appealed the State Government to extend all the facilities to the bereaved family.
Further he also requested the Government to provide job to the martyr’s son in the Education or Medical Education Department.
Those who were present and paid tributes included former Minister and vice president, PCC Raman Bhalla, senior BJP leader and MLC, Ashok Khajuria, MLC, Ajay Bharati, Relief Commissioner, M L Raina, Kiran Watal chairman, Vishaw Kashmiri Pandit Samaj, Dr Agnishekhar convener, PK, Dr Ajay Chrungoo, chairman PK, Zorawar Singh Jamwal of Team Jammu, Sanjay Saraf youth president LJP, Prof A K Sadhu, MK Jalali of Sharika Peeth Sanstha, Hira Lal Pandita chairman Congress Migrant Cell, its general secretary , Chuni Lal Kandi, vice chairman, M N Pandit, co-convener and JTC chief, Shadi Lal Pandit, M K Yogi, president N C Minority Cell, Sheela Handoo, BJP leader, Puri Lal Thusoo, Surinder Pandita, Surinder Bhat, Pawan Ji, Ajay Bhat, S L Pandita, Kuldip Luthra, R L Raina, Desh Rattan of APMCC, Raj Nath Raina of Bangil Magam Sabha, Rajiv Seghal, Sunil Ji, Ravi Ji, Kaka Ji, P L Thusoo and Camp commandants of Relief organization and camp inmates.
Meanwhile, Dr Ajay Chrungoo chairman PK and its convener, Dr Agnishekhar have demanded that the Government should recommend Deepak Thusoo for Gallantry Award which he deserved. They made an appeal to State Government in this regard. The gathering also demanded that the park in Jagti be named after the martyr.
