JAMMU, June 30: Glowing tributes were paid to Amarnath Vaishnavi a great Kashmiri Pandit leader and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ideologue on his seventh death anniversary here, today.
In this connection a function was organised by ASKPC, the oldest organisation of KPs who was led by Late Vaishnavi for decades together as its president at ASKPC Bhawan Durga Nagar here today.
The Shardanjali function was attended by large gathering of Kashmiri Pandits from all walks of life. Prof. P.N. Trisal was the chief guest with Tej Krishan Bhat, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner as guest of honour.
Floral tributes were paid to the late leader by the community leaders and social activists on the occasion.
Those who paid tributes to Vaishnavi included senior KP leader and his old colleague H.N.Juttoo, Shiban Khaibri , Ashok Dhar , M.K.Jalali , D.N.Kissu, Sundri Lal, Roshan Lal Raina , Kuldeep Raina, Ashok Kangan , P.L.Pandita, M.K.Bangroo, Behari Kak, Prof. Verinder Rawal, Desh Rattan, B.K.Vaishnavi (Sayanasi), Prof G.L.Koul, C.L.Garoo, Sheela Handoo, Kusum Dhar, B.L.Dhar, Chand Ji Khar, Dr Satish Bhan, S.K.Raina, Raj Nath, Veena Gurtoo, Ashok Dhar, B.L.Handoo, Bharat Bushan Gosain, Executive Member of ASKPC.
Speaking on the occasion speakers highlighted the contributions and social service render by Late Vaishnavi to the community and nation.
On this occasion ASKPC special awards of “Amar Nath Vaishnavi Gaurav Samman, Atti Vishisht Community Sewa” were conferred to H.L.Chatta, the former president of ASKPC and a great social activist posthumously which was received by his brother-in-law Vijender Koul. Besides, the Samman was also conferred to Pran Pandita. The award was presented to them for their selfless community services this year. Their citations were read by Ravinder Razdan and Dr T.K.Bhat, general secretary ASKPC, respectively.
T.K.Bhat Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation emphasized on the need to follow the footsteps of Vaishnavi in accomplishing the objectives and goals of the community to ameliorate the suffering of needy and poor.
Prof. P.N.Trisal recalled his long association with Late Vaishanavi and described him real “Karamyogi” . He emphasized to follow his goodness and simplicity. The programme was compared by P.K.Raina and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. T.K.Bhat general secretary, ASKPC.
Another function was organized by Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha under the chairmanship of Engineer Ramesh Chander Mahajan its president in which members paid glowing tributes to late leader and a great stalwart.
The speakers while paying tributes to Vaishanvi said he was a person with great moral courage, honesty, integrity, selflessness who served the community and nation till his last breath. They also recalled his services in Praja Parishad Andolan and Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradan and Ek Nishan Andolan of Praja Parishad in 1952 and 1953.
Seventh death anniversary of late Amarnath Vaishnavi was observed as a “ unity day” today by Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) at New Delhi and other places..
While paying rich tributes to the legendary leader of Kashmiri Pandit community, late Amarnath Vaishnavi on the occasion, Kundan Kashmiri President KPC stated that Late Vaishnavi Ji was an unchallenged community leader who had innate qualities of moral courage, honesty, integrity, strong determination and boundless capacity to work for humanity in general and for displaced KPs in particular.
