Srinagar, Sept 10: Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, in partnership with Smile Train Organization Khyber Medical Institute and the DEIC/RBSK Centre, organized a free screening camp today for children suffering from cleft lip and palate anomalies.
Throughout the camp, nearly 40 children from remote areas of Baramulla were screened and evaluated for future treatment.
The goal, organizers said, was to detect cleft lip and palate anomalies early, enabling timely intervention and comprehensive care.
In addition to the screening, the Smile Train Organization also held an informative seminar for the SNCU and labour room staff, highlighting the importance of early detection and treatment.
Attendees included the Chief Medical Officer of Baramulla, the Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, the Head of Dentistry, the Head of Pediatrics, and the Incharge of the DEIC Unit.
Noting the importance of the screening, Dr Masoodi said, “Today’s screening camp is a testament to our shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of children in our district.”
“The partnership with Smile Train and Khyber Medical Institute has allowed us to provide critical support and raise awareness about cleft conditions, which will have a lasting positive impact on many young lives,” he added.
