GMC Baramulla installs new diagnostic equipment

Srinagar Jan 5: The department of biochemistry has begun a battery of 15 new investigations in the Central Diagnostic Laboratory by installing new diagnostic equipment at the Govt. Medical College Baramulla and its associated hospital.
The spokesperson of the hospital said that the new investigations include Gamma GT, Lipase, Microalbumin, G6PD, CK-NAC, Phosphorous, Magnesium, LDL-C (measured), Iron profile (Iron, Ferritin, Transferrin, UIBC), Adenosine Deaminase (ADA), Urinary Protein, and CSF Protein. “These tests will enormously help in the diagnosis and management of liver diseases, chronic kidney disease, infectious diseases, hemolytic disorders, etc.,” he said.
He added that the principal announced investigation will be provided free of charge on January 5 and 6, 2023, to patients visiting the associated hospital, GMC Baramulla.
He said that these investigations were formally thrown open to patient care on January 4, 2023, by principal GMC Baramulla in the presence of the medical superintendent, HOD of Medicine, faculty in charge of the Central Diagnostic Laboratory, and other technical staff.
