JAMMU, June 9: Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu in collaboration with Art of Living organized ‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ workshop for faculty members, senior residents as well as MBBS and PG students in the College auditorium and NMC Hall.
Around 150 medical students of all Profs, UGs and PGs and over 35 HoDs, faculty members and senior residents attended the ‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ mediation session. The resource person on the occasion was Rohit Ranjan, Intuitional Programme Director and an international faculty with Art of Living.
The workshop opened with the welcome address by Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma (Principal and Dean, GMC Jammu) in both the sessions of faculty members, senior residents, MBBS students and PG students at college auditorium and NMC Hall, respectively.
The Principal explained that such sessions and practices are need of the hour for all. She talked about upcoming programmes in GMC onset of International Yoga Day, National directive and NMC guidelines to work seriously on stress of medical students and professionals.
Rohit Ranjan very beautifully explained how the change in life style, adopting meditation, Pranayama and stress relieving Kriyas and Meditations help in boosting immunity and health, relieve stress, anxiety and depression, ability to manage our mind and increasing Prana Shakti to work relentlessly for longer durations. He conducted a short but powerful meditation for faculty members, senior residents as well as MBBS and PG students.
Ajay Kapoor (State coordinator, Art of Living Bureau of Communications and Projects J&K) was also present for both the sessions.
Dr Seema Gupta (HoD Pharmacology), Dr Rajeev Gupta (HoD, Preventive and Social Medicine), Dr Sanjeev Gupta (HoD Orthopaedics), Dr Anju Jamwal (HoD Anaesthesia) and Dr Fayaz Wani (HoD Medicine) also attended the faculty sessions.
