Srinagar, July 11: In order to ensure that the patient care, as well as the academic activities, don’t not suffer, the Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar has announced summer vacations to its faculty members in two separate halves starting from July 16.
In this regard, officials said the first half of the vacations will start from July 16 to 29 and the second half of the vacation will commence on August 1 and will end on August 14. It has been noted that July 30 and 31 will be the common working day for all the Faculty Members and no kind of leave whatsoever for these days will be entertained.
Officials said that in this connection all the Heads of Departments of various disciplines of Government Medical College Srinagar have been asked to furnish the summer vacations roster for the year 2021 of regular faculty members for both the halves and submit the same to the concerned within 2 days so that the Roster is completed and issued well in time.
All the Heads of the Departments at GMC, Srinagar have been directed to ensure that teaching programmes, as well as patient care, does not suffer during the period of summer vacations-2021
“The lecturers who joined from January 2021 onwards either on regular or on academic arrangement basis will remain present during both the halves of summer vacation-2021,” officials said.
Also, it has been directed that, as far as possible, an equal number of faculty staff in each department will remain present during both the halves of the vacations so that work will be carried out smoothly.
Officials said that the faculty members on duty during any of the above halves of the summer vacation will not be allowed to attend conferences, workshops, seminars unless otherwise the same is unavoidable and the alternative arrangements, therefore, are ensured by the concerned HOD.
“No faculty members shall be allowed to avail the vacations in excess in any case. All the faculty members availing any of the halves of the vacation shall join thereafter and no kind of leave whatsoever can be allowed,” officials said.
It has also been underlined that the faculty members availing any of the halves of vacations will record and communicate to the college, in their departure reports, their mailing address, telephone numbers.
While the faculty members remain on vacations, the next in line senior faculty member available in the department, it has been directed, will provide cover during in the absence/vacation of HOD, as the case may be and the senior Faculty member will act as I/C Head of the Department.
“If the faculty members of any department have not availed the previous winter vacations due to any reasons, credits shall be given in their Earned Leave account as per rules.”
