Srinagar, Jan 1: Aiming to enhance the quality of healthcare and administrative services, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar today launched a QR-based feedback system at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital, with plans to extend it to other associated hospitals by the end of this week.
Administrator of GMC Srinagar, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, told Excelsior that the initiative seeks to provide patients and their attendants with an easy, efficient, and transparent platform to share their experiences and suggestions for the hospital’s improvement.
“The feedback received will be reviewed daily by the concerned nodal officer, and based on the inputs, we will take appropriate action. If the feedback pertains to an area within our domain, we will address it. If not, it will be escalated to the relevant level,” he said.
Patients and attendants can now scan QR codes displayed at key locations throughout the hospital, such as reception areas, outpatient departments, and wards, to submit their feedback either anonymously or with their contact details.
This data, as per officials, will be reviewed regularly to identify areas for improvement and ensure timely resolution of grievances.
The system was launched by the Principal GMC Srinagar, Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan, who emphasized the importance of feedback for institutional progress.
Other attendees at the event included Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, HoD of the Urology Department Prof. Dr. Sajad Nazir, Medical Superintendent Dr. Tasneem, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Casualty Medical Officers (CMOs), Resident Medical Officers (RMOs), nursing staff, and other key stakeholders of the hospital.
Hakak confirmed that by the end of this week, the feedback system will be implemented across all associated hospitals to enhance patient care services and allow people to provide suggestions for better functioning.
“At times, people suggest changes that do not usually occur to us. These changes improve the facilities and help us work more efficiently-the aim is to work in that manner,” he said.
Prof. Dr. Iffat highlighted the hospital’s commitment to using technology to ensure patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
