JAMMU, May 29: Gandhi Memorial College of Education Jammu (GMCEJ), a unit of HESK has started a regular three years Bachelors Degree Programme in Mass Communication and Multimedia Production from the academic session May 2014, for the students of J&K.
The Course is recognized by the Higher Education Department, J&K Government and is affiliated to the University of Kashmir.
GMCEJ is the third Degree College and the first private institution in the J&K State to offer a degree Course in MCMP.
It is pertinent to mention that the institution has been established by HESK (regd), a society of philanthropic Kashmiri Pandits serving to the cause of quality education in the State for last seventy years, GMCEJ has already established in its Jammu campus, a state of the art recording studio, with related facilities for the intending students.
Mass Communication-Multimedia Production includes careers in multimedia, journalism, television, films, public relations, radio, web design, animation, publishing and advertising, Market Research Agencies, Corporate Houses, NGOs etc. The Mass Communication-Multimedia degree uses digital computer based tools for designing graphics, creating Websites and animations and incorporating sound with still and moving images.
A meeting was held at the HESK office of GMCEJ under the chairmanship of Prof B L Zutshi, an eminent Educationist and Member Education HESK, Prof Sunil Ticku, Member Finance, Dr Satish Bhan, Member EB, Virender Raina, Member EB, Prof G L Koul, Principal, GMCEJ and Satish Talashi, Administrator HESK to chalk out the strategies for the forthcoming academic session 2014-15 of MCMP, the meeting was also attended by Bihari Kak a well known Media personality and M L Jalali, social activist.
In order to provide quality exposure to its students, Institute of Mass Communication of GMCEJ will provide expertise of renowned Advisory Board and Guest Faculty. Girl students will be provided on campus hostel facility. College transport facility is also available to and fro city/campus.
