GN Hospital starts special health care services for senior citizens

JAMMU, May 7: The Health Department, under the guidance of Director Health Services, Jammu, has taken a new initiative to extend special care to senior citizens visiting Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
All the facilities are provided free of cost under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) Cards are generated for all the senior citizens so that they don’t have to stand in queue for any health related services in the hospital.
The services being providing free of cost to the senior citizens on priority are Clinical Health Checkup, Physiotherapy Sessions from 9 AM to 6 PM, Free drugs under NCDCP (Non Communicable Disease Control Programme) and NPHCE (National Programme for Healthcare of Elderly), Free Diagnostics: all Lab Tests, X-Rays, Ultra Sounds & CT Scans, Regular Yoga Session, Counseling and AYUSH Services.
In addition to these, a special Health Club for Senior Citizens named “2nd Innings Club” is organized on every Saturday from 12:00 Noon onwards, where the Senior Citizens can come and spent time as well as avail all the listed facilities under one roof.
In addition, a 10 Bedded Ward has been dedicated for Senior Citizens in Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. A step ahead, Home visits by the Physiotherapist shall be started soon. Also a special OPD of PMR (Physical Medicine Rehabilitation) shall also be dedicated to Geriatric population from 9th May 2022.
