JAMMU, May 9: Gareeb Nawaz Foundation (GNF) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Moulana Ansar Raza its president constituted a new unit for district Jammu.
As per a release, Khalid Mehmood Khan was elected as president of the Foundation while Mohammed Shameeem Khan was elected its vice president.
Masarat Begam was elected as general secretary, Rajinder Kumar as organizing secretary and Satpal Verma as secretary.
Besides Parvaz Ahmad, Vinod Chopra, Bansi Lal and Khurshid were elected as members of the Foundation.
Addressing the meting Moulana Raza emphasized the need for promotion of brotherhood and nationalism. He called for fighting out those elements who are hell bent to disturb the peace in the country.
He declared that the Foundation will work for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden of the society. He appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, to frame a board of Madrasas in J&K for religious as well as technical education.
Ashwani Pradhan chairman of the GNF proposed the vote of thanks.
